12th July we joined a large congregation, a contingent from the Friendly Lodge (1513) Barnsley, and Cawthorne Brass Band in a beautiful Songs of Praise as the climax of our commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the church in 1876.
A wonderful evening singing some favourite hymns The representatives from the group sang Kumbaya including a recitation of the Scout Promise. as an added suprise to all of them including leaders they sang it accapella around our indoor campfire and apparently when we sang there was an audible aah as they all did a Fantastic job. It was great to support our local church on this special day along with our Group Chairman Cannon Darren Percival BEM and Gwyn Rees who organised the event. Team Flying Monks doing what they do best Representing the Group out in the community.
